Who doesn’t love air fryer chicken gyros? It’s very easy to make a delicious meal; just marinate the chicken, place it in the air fryer, and cook for 18 minutes at 375°F. All you have to do is assemble the gyros with your favorite toppings. I’m telling you—super simple!

For the Chicken Marinade:

  • 1 pound chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1 tablespoon oregano, dried
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

For the Gyros:

  • 4 pita bread
  • 1 cup tzatziki sauce
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

1. Combine Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup Greek yogurt, 3 minced garlic cloves, 2 tablespoons lemon juice, 1 tablespoon dried oregano, and 2 tablespoons olive oil.

2. Season: Add 1 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper. Mix well until everything is blended.

3. Marinate Chicken: Add the chicken thighs to the bowl, ensuring they are well-coated with the marinade. Cover and marinate the chicken in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, but for the best flavor, marinate overnight.

4. Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes. This helps in even cooking.

5. Arrange Chicken: Remove the marinated chicken from the refrigerator. Arrange the chicken thighs in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding.

6. Cook Chicken: Cook the chicken for 15-18 minutes, flipping halfway through at around the 8-minute mark to ensure even cooking on both sides.

7. Check Doneness: The chicken should be golden brown and have an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
