Ingredients
- 1 puff pastry sheet, thawed
- 10 slices of honey ham
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon water
Optional garnishes:
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- Fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Begin by gently unfolding your thawed puff pastry on a clean, lightly floured surface.
- Spread a thin layer of mustard evenly across the pastry.
- Arrange the honey ham slices over the mustard, covering most of the pastry while leaving a small margin at the edges.
- Sprinkle the cheddar and Parmesan cheeses evenly over the ham, then dust with garlic and onion powders.
- Start at one of the shorter ends of the pastry and roll it tightly towards the opposite end to form a log.
- Once rolled, use a sharp knife to cut the log into 1-inch thick slices. This will form your pinwheels.
- If the dough becomes too soft to handle, place it in the freezer for about 10 minutes before slicing.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Arrange the pinwheels in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they don’t touch to ensure even cooking.
- Cook for 15-17 minutes, or until golden and puffed. You might need to do this in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
Notes
For best results, ensure your puff pastry is fully thawed but still cold to touch before starting. This makes the pastry easier to handle and helps achieve a flaky texture. If using egg wash, lightly brush the tops of the pinwheels before air frying to get a golden sheen.
