Ingredients
- 2 to 3 pounds of beef roast (top sirloin, tenderloin, or ribeye work well)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
Instructions
1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
2. Searing beef in air fryer: Place the beef in the air fryer basket and cook at 400°F for 10 minutes to sear the outside.
3. Lower the temperature to 350°F (175°C) and continue cooking according to your desired doneness:
- Rare: 120-125°F (49-52°C)
- Medium-rare: 130-135°F (54-57°C)
- Medium: 140-145°F (60-63°C)
- Medium-well: 150-155°F (65-68°C)
- Well-done: 160-165°F (71-74°C)
4. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature for accuracy. This ensures your roast reaches the desired roast beef doneness.
5. Once the desired temperature is reached, remove the beef and let it rest for at least 10 minutes. Resting roast beef allows the juices to redistribute, making it more tender.
6. For carving roast beef, slice against the grain for the best texture. Knowing how to carve roast beef properly ensures maximum tenderness.
Notes
Resting the beef after cooking is essential to ensure it stays juicy and tender.
