Ingredients
- 1 medium spaghetti squash (about 2–3 pounds)
- Olive oil (1 tablespoon)
- Salt (to taste)
- Black pepper (to taste)
- Optional: garlic powder (1 teaspoon)
- Optional: grated Parmesan cheese (1/4 cup)
- Optional: chopped parsley or basil for garnish
Instructions
1. Cut the Squash: Slice the spaghetti squash in half lengthwise using a sharp knife.
2. Remove Seeds: Scoop out and discard the seeds and stringy parts with a spoon.
3. Season: Brush the inside of each half with olive oil, then season with salt and black pepper. Optionally, add garlic powder for extra flavor.
4. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C). This ensures a consistent cooking environment from the start.
5. Arrange the squash in the air fryer basket, cut-side up, ensuring they do not overlap or crowd each other.
6. Cook for 15 to 20 minutes. The exact time may vary depending on the size of the squash and the specifics of your air fryer model.
7. Check the squash after 15 minutes by piercing it with a fork. If the fork goes in easily, the squash is done. If not, continue cooking, checking every 5 minutes.
8. Remove the squash carefully from the air fryer—it will be very hot. Use a fork to scrape the inside flesh into strands, resembling spaghetti noodles.
Notes
Cooking times can vary based on the size of the squash and individual air fryer models. Start checking for doneness after 15 minutes to avoid overcooking.
