Ingredients
- 16 oz (450 g) button mushrooms
- 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup (30 g) grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup (30 g) breadcrumbs
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) olive oil
- 1/4 tsp (1.25 ml) salt
- 1/4 tsp (1.25 ml) black pepper
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
1. Clean the mushrooms by wiping them with a damp paper towel. Remove the stems and save them for the stuffing.
2. In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped mushroom stems, softened cream cheese, minced garlic, grated Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, olive oil, salt, pepper, and chopped parsley. Mix until well combined. This is your stuffing mixture.
3. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 3 minutes. Proper air fryer settings are crucial.
4. Fill each mushroom cap with the stuffing mixture using a spoon.
5. Arrange the stuffed mushrooms in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they don’t touch.
6. Cook for 10-12 minutes, or until the tops are golden and the mushrooms are tender. Adjust cooking time based on your air fryer model.
7. Check halfway through cooking to ensure even browning. These air frying techniques help achieve the perfect texture.
Notes
Ensure not to overcrowd the air fryer basket for even cooking. Adjust seasoning to taste and consider variations like adding cooked sausage or spinach to the stuffing for different flavors.
