  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh spinach (optional)
  • 1/4 cup cooked and crumbled Italian sausage (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped sun-dried tomatoes (optional)

Instructions

1. Clean the mushrooms: Wipe each mushroom with a damp cloth to remove dirt.

2. Remove the stems: Gently twist and pull the stems out of the mushroom caps.

3. Optionally scoop out the gills: Use a small spoon to remove the gills for more filling space.

Tip: Choose firm, fresh mushrooms to ensure they hold up during cooking.

4. Mix the filling: In a bowl, combine cream cheese, Parmesan, mozzarella, garlic, olive oil, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper.

5. Add optional ingredients: If using, mix in chopped spinach, crumbled sausage, and sun-dried tomatoes.
