Instructions
1. Preparation of Cauliflower:
- Wash the cauliflower florets and pat them dry.
- In a large bowl, mix all-purpose flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, ginger powder, salt, and pepper.
- Gradually add water to the dry ingredients, whisking until a smooth batter is formed.
2. Coating the Cauliflower:
- Dip each cauliflower floret into the batter, ensuring it’s well coated.
- Shake off the excess batter before placing the florets in the air fryer basket.
3. Air Frying:
- Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (190°C).
- Arrange the battered florets in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they are not overcrowded to allow for even air circulation.
- Cook for 20-25 minutes, or until the florets are golden and crispy, shaking the basket halfway through cooking.
4. Preparing the Sauce:
- While the cauliflower cooks, prepare the sauce by mixing soy sauce, tomato ketchup, chili sauce, vinegar, and honey in a bowl.
5. Combining Cauliflower and Sauce:
- Once the cauliflower is cooked, toss it in the sauce until evenly coated.
- Garnish with chopped spring onions.
6. Serving:
- Serve the Gobi Manchurian hot as an appetizer or side dish.
Notes
- Seasoning Variations: Feel free to adjust the sauce ingredients based on your taste preferences. More chili sauce can be added for a spicier dish or increase the honey for a sweeter profile.
- Cooking Time: Depending on the air fryer model, cooking times may vary. Start checking the cauliflower at the 15-minute mark to avoid overcooking.
- Arrangement: Proper arrangement in the air fryer basket is crucial for achieving the perfect texture. Do not stack the florets on top of each other.
- Serving Suggestions: Gobi Manchurian can be enjoyed on its own or served with a side of steamed rice or noodles for a fuller meal.
