Ingredients
- 1 lb (450g) white fish fillets (like cod, tilapia, or haddock), skinless and boneless
- 2 tbsp Thai red curry paste
- 1 tbsp fish sauce
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp fresh cilantro, chopped
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 1 red chili, finely chopped (optional, for extra heat)
- 1/2 cup green beans, finely chopped
- Cooking spray
Instructions
1. Prepare the fish: Cut the white fish fillets into small pieces and place them in a food processor.
2. Mix the ingredients: Add 2 tbsp Thai red curry paste, 1 tbsp fish sauce, 1 tbsp lime juice, 1 egg, 1/4 cup cornstarch, 1 tbsp brown sugar, 2 tbsp fresh cilantro, 2 finely chopped green onions, 1 finely chopped red chili (optional), and 1/2 cup chopped green beans.
3. Blend: Pulse the mixture until it’s well combined but still slightly chunky.
4. Form the patties: Scoop out portions of the mixture and shape them into small patties with your hands. Wet your hands to prevent sticking.
5. Preheat the air fryer: Set your air fryer to 360°F (180°C) and preheat for 5 minutes.
6. Prepare the basket: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
7. Arrange the patties: Place the fish cakes in a single layer in the basket. Do not overcrowd; cook in batches if necessary.
8. Cook: Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the fish cakes are golden brown and cooked through.
9. Check for doneness: Ensure the fish cakes reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
Notes
Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure even cooking. Cook in batches if needed.
