Honey Sriracha Chicken Thighs Air Fryer

Looking for a quick meal? Try air fryer honey sriracha chicken thighs. Just marinate, set your air fryer to 380°F, and cook for 20 minutes. You’ll love the blend of sweet and spicy flavors!

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 3 tbsp sriracha sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Optional Substitutions:

  • Honey: Maple syrup can be used for a different kind of sweetness.
  • Sriracha: If you prefer less heat, reduce the sriracha or substitute with a milder hot sauce.
  • Soy Sauce: Tamari or coconut aminos are great alternatives for a gluten-free option.

Instructions

1. Marinate the Chicken: In a mixing bowl, combine olive oil, honey, sriracha, soy sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Add salt and pepper to taste. Submerge the chicken thighs in the marinade, ensuring each piece is well-coated. For the best flavor, let the chicken marinate for at least 30 minutes, or overnight in the refrigerator if time allows.

2. Preheat the Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 380°F (193°C). This temperature allows the chicken to cook through evenly while getting that desirable crispy exterior.

3. Air Frying the Chicken: Place the marinated chicken thighs in the air fryer basket. Make sure they are not overlapping; air flow is key to achieving the perfect crispiness. Cook for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, flip the chicken thighs over and cook for an additional 10 minutes. Depending on your air fryer model, you might need to adjust the cooking time slightly to ensure the chicken is fully cooked and crispy.

4. Check for Doneness: Ensure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) when tested with a meat thermometer. This step is crucial for safety and quality.

5. Add Finishing Touches: Once cooked, brush a little extra honey sriracha mixture on the chicken for a final glaze. This enhances the flavor and adds a nice shine.

6. Serve and Garnish: Serve the chicken hot. Garnish with freshly chopped cilantro or sesame seeds for an added touch of freshness and texture. Sliced green onions also make a great garnish and add a pop of color.

Notes

Always allow the chicken to rest for a few minutes after air frying. This resting period helps the juices redistribute throughout the meat, ensuring each bite is moist and flavorful.
